Rihanna 'turned to God after Brown attack'

Tuesday, November 3 2009, 20:39 UTC - by Oli Simpson

Rihanna has admitted that her faith in God helped her recover from her violent altercation with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

In August, Brown was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to stay away from the singer after he pleaded guilty to assaulting her during an argument earlier this year.

Rihanna said that she relied heavily on her friends and family for support, but that it was her trust in God that helped her pull through the ordeal.

She told Glamour: "My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone.

"It's a lonely place to be - no-one can understand. That's when you get close to God."
