Nintendo: 'No Wii HD in 2010'
Saturday, November 7 2009, 11:48 UTC - by Mark Langshaw, Gaming/Comics Reporter
Nintendo has moved to end speculation that it is to release a high definition version of the Wii next year.
In an interview with GTTV, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime refuted Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter's claim that a HD edition of its home console would be released in 2010.
"Michael [Pachter] continues to be the only one who believes this is going to happen," he stated. "I don’t know how forcefully we can say that there is no Wii HD."
During an episode of GT's Bonus Round, Pachter said that he expects the Wii HD to be ready for autumn 2010.
The Nintendo Wii is the bestselling console of the current hardware generation, having sold more units than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 worldwide.
