Chanelle: 'I'll get help for my problems'
Sunday, August 9 2009, 15:04 UTC - by Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter
Chanelle Hayes has announced that she is considering checking into The Priory clinic following her recent overdose.
The former Big Brother star was hospitalised on Thursday night after reportedly downing a cocktail of painkillers and wine following an argument with her footballer lover Matt Bates.
Hayes returned home the next day, thanking fans for the "hundreds" of support messages she had received.
Reflecting on the incident in an interview with the Daily Star Sunday, she explained: "It's so frightening to think I could have died the other day. I was at my absolute lowest and I'm desperate not to go there again."
Discussing her Priory plans, Hayes added: "I'm going to get some help - definitely. I'll do whatever it takes. I can't just keep trying to run away from my problems. It's as if I've been given a second chance and that means getting help and sorting myself out."
The star competed on Big Brother 8 in 2007, but walked out of the series after 61 days due to tensions with fellow housemate and then-boyfriend Ziggy Lichman.
